This Thanksgiving, HBO Max’s US audience is getting a new action comedy, Superintelligence, about what happens when an all-pervasive AI (voiced by James Corden) focuses on Ms Average (Melissa McCarthy) to help her to get her life in order, and into the bargain, maybe sort out some of the planet’s and society’s problems in the meantime, and not in a good way.
When a powerful superintelligence chooses to study Carol, the most average person on Earth, the fate of the world hangs in the balance. As the AI decides whether to enslave, save or destroy humanity, it’s up to Carol to prove people are worth saving.
