CNN Business reminds us that the first YouTube video was published 15 years ago today, 23 April 2005. It features Youtube co-founder Jawed Karim visiting the zoo and it has so far received 90 million views.
Within 18 months of publishing ‘Me at the zoo’, Jawed and his co-founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen had sold to Google for $1.65 Billion, and the rest is history. Today, according to YouTube’s own figures, the site is visited by more than 2 Billion logged-in-users every month.
