SAG-AFTRA urges members not to promote strike-affected characters for Hallowe’en

As strike action in Hollywood passes its 100th. day, union members have been issued a warning by SAG-AFTRA ahead of Halloween – don’t dress up as a film or TV character from a show affected by the industrial action and post images of yourself on social media.

“Let’s use our collective power to send a loud and clear message to our struck employers that we will not promote their content without a fair contract,”

Instead, they are being urged to follow conventional seasonal guidelines and dig out their ghost, zombie etc. costumes. Does the ban extend to depictions of Dracula or Frankenstein’s monster? Maybe the only way to find out is to give it a go and wait for some bloodthirsty lawyer to get in touch.
