All the sevens for the NCSC as UK cyber attacks surge


In the last year, the NCSC (National Cyber Security Centre) has responded to 7% more incidents (777) than in the previous year, with ransomware attacks being the most prevalent; “the same number of incidents in the first four months of 2021 that it did in all of 2020, itself triple the number of incidents in 2019”. In the UK, attacks on the under-pressure NHS account for a worrying 20% of the NCSC’s caseload.
