“There it was, John’s voice – crystal clear”: the making of The Beatles’ ‘Now & Then’ (video)

What the surviving members of The Beatles’ are considering to be their final song together, ‘Now And Then’, has been released to much acclaim. The song’s release owes much to film director Peter Jackson, whose machine learning-powered ‘MAL Machine’ was used to recover John Lennon’s voice from a demo he recorded onto cassette tape while living in the Dakota Building in New York.

See the official promo (below), which was directed by Peter Jackson.

To accompany the promo, a 12 minute ‘making of’ documentary by Oliver Murray and Alistair Sirkett has been released showing how state-of-the-art modern technology was used to reunite the band for maybe one last time.
