For the second new Informed Sauce podcast, NVIDIA’s Jamie Allan talks about the company’s rearranged GPU Technology Conference, which switched to an online-only event after the world went into lockdown.
New Ampere architecture and A100 GPU
Launched last week with a keynote from CEO Jensen Huang, GTC 2020 has its own website that features “hundreds of sessions on dozens of hot topics”.
In the podcast, Jamie tells us about the announcement of the Ampere architecture and NVIDIA’s next generation GPU, the A100 (see main picture).
Software announcements
On the data science from, Ampere is complemented by NVIDIA’s software products; the Jarvis platform for conversational AI and other real-time applications and Merlin for recommendation engines. Then there’s the Omniverse platform, which allows users working on the same 3D visualisation project to collaborate remotely using different systems or tools.
