At Infocomm 2023 in Orlando, Florida, Samsung has shown the latest addition to The Wall range of LED displays, designed to make virtual production for TV, film and other creative industries faster and easier.
They’re offering pixel pitch options of P1.68 and P2.1, dedicated studio frame rates (23.976, 29.97 and 59.94Hz) and genlocking (sync’ing the screen with a camera’s video signa)l. The display has a refresh rate of up to 12,288Hz, a max brightness of 1,500nits, a 35,000:1 fixed contrast ratio (for P2.1) and up to 170-degree wide viewing angles. A wall can be configured with a curvature of up to 6,000R.
The new screens come with 3D LUTs (lookup tables) for colour correction, wide-gamut HDR colour processing and colour adjustment between individual cabinets or modules and has the ability to ‘self-heal’ LED-related issues..
