Party like it’s 1965 – Kodak launches new Super 8 camera

Kodak first announced that the company was developing a new Super 8 camera back in 2016, at CES. It’s finally coming to market, for just under $5,500. A ‘soft’ launch in the US in December will be followed by similar announcements in Canada, the UK and around Europe.

One $35 Super 8 film cartridge can only shoot roughly two and a half minutes of 24fps footage. Although it’s trying hard to be a traditional film camera, it can’t bear to be without some of today’s must-have features:

  • a four-inch LCD viewfinder
  • a microSD card for recording audio
  • a Micro HDMI output for connecting an external monitor.

Charging is via Micro USB.
