Using AI to eliminate “drudge work” from content creation

OpenAI co-founder and president Greg Brockman has told an audience at SXSW that generative AI tools like their own ChatGPT are going to take over much of the “drudge work” involved in content creation and conjure up new “interactive” entertainment experiences for audiences. While actual screenwriting is perhaps a bridge too far, jobs where users “didn’t want human judgment there in the first place”, like those involving content moderation are ideally suited to being automated.

“Every aspect of life is going to be sort of amplified by this technology, and I’m sure there are some aspects or people or companies that will say, ‘I don’t want that,’ and that’s okay. I think it’s really going to be a tool, just like the cell phone in your pocket, that is going to be available when it makes sense”

So many of the creative and technical tasks involved in making films, TV programmes and other forms of content are labour-intensive, costly and time-consuming. Examples include rotoscoping and lens dirt removal. At Mondatum we specialise in using mathematical optimisation and machine learning to streamline these types of content creation processes and workflows. If you think your business would benefit from adding automation in some areas we are here to help. Contact Colin Birch for an initial chat about what we can do for you – colin@mondatum.com.
