Roll up, roll up. Fake people. Only $2.99

If you up against it and need to fill a scene or create a more socially diverse group, you can now buy fake people from Generated Photos, whose customers include the BBC and Vice Media, for as little as $2.99. ThisPersonDoesNotExist.com will let you have a couple of them for free. By shifting a few values in the inputs to a GAN (Generative Adversarial Network), you can adjust how they look, including age and ethnicity. Rosebud.ai will even animate these fake people for you and give them a voice.

The New York Times has been experimenting with creating synthetic people using an NVIDIA GAN, with impressive results, though they do spend some time explaining the current limitations faced by anybody relying on the technology to produce perfect results and the wisdom of putting too much trust in it.
